One question we are often asked is, “Is Orthodontic Care Expensive?” And the most generic answer to this question is…When orthodontic treatment is implemented at the proper time, treatment is often less costly than the dental care required to treat the more serious problems that can develop years later.

If you have recently discovered that orthodontic treatment is needed for you or a member of your family…don’t worry, Dr. McClellan and his team are aware that people have finite budgets and are accustomed to working with families and individuals to make orthodontic care affordable and budget friendly.

You may be pleasantly surprised to hear how truly affordable orthodontic care is today. Monthly payments can be no more than the cost of your mobile phone plan…but the benefits last a lot longer. At the end of the day, orthodontic care is a lifetime investment in your or your child’s health and appearance, and payment plans make care extremely manageable.

In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:

• If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount. (If you have insurance, we will offer a discount for payment of your portion of the fee that will not be covered by insurance.)

• To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.

• We offer a unique program where we create a payment slider. You pick the down payment and you pick how many payments you would like to make, interest-free of course!

Do you have insurance to help pay for treatment? For your convenience, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available and will file your claim for you. Keep in mind that orthodontic insurance differs from general dental insurance in that each insured individual has a lifetime maximum benefit for orthodontic services. We will help you strategize how to maximize your benefits so you can minimize your out-of-pocket costs.

Even if your dental plan does not cover orthodontics, your employer might offer a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA). The money you put into this account is not taxed, which means your dollars will go further. Contribute the maximum amount and use these funds to pay for expenses not covered by insurance, including braces.
